I'm trying to figure out a way to assign a label on a subset of files. To put it another way, I want to be able to a label called 'Dev 1.2' to all the files labeled 'Dev 1.1'

I found this question which describes how to assign multiple labels http://jedivcs.sourceforge.net/jvcsfaq/index.php?action=artikel&cat=15&id=52&artlang=en
but you have to manual select each one you want, and it assumes you want the latest version.

Thanks

This is not possible at this time (JVCS 2.42). If the task is to label a complete subset of files regardless of an existing label this can be achieved using the command line client jvcs.exe and a root crossreference project.

Create a root project eg. myrootproject which is only a placeholder or container for crossreferenced projects

Assign the myrootproject all projects which represent your product over cross referencing it

To label all files in all projects call jvcs [...] -labelproject myrootproject "dev 1.2 label" crossref

Q:
I have yet installed MySQL 4 on my PC, do I need to install JVCS-Mysql server, and in case of YES, what function is it for ?
Why do I need 2 servers ?

A: Yes, Installation of JVCS is necessary. JVCS MySQL server is the programm which reads and writes data to the MySQL database. It accepts requests from JVCS clients, translates it into database accesses and performs the database accesses. As there are different database systems there are also differents JVCS server ports and one of it is the MySQL server port.

Several users have requested that we support using JediVCS. We allow users to use their choice of over 20 version control systems, we can support most command line based systems.
To add support for JVCS, we would need to know the command lines and formats used by JVCS.

Once I add the configurations to Multi-Edit, I would need to test with a live JVCS system to verify correct operation of our codes. Would you be able to assist us with this integration?

There is a documentation available for the command line client which is installed during JVCS client installation. If you have specific questions please drop me a PM.

I am looking for a way to retrieve all the projects and their contents on the server to my local machine without individually opening, selecting, and checking out each project file. Is there a tool/plug-in out there that does this?

There is no official function for it but you can achieve this with the following steps:

create a new project with the standalone jvcs gui client and name it something like rootproject

assign all other projects to this rootproject inside the standalone jvcs gui client

now you can sync either over jvcs standalone or over jvcs commandline client using the crossreference option
